EMS Technical Advisory Board

Purpose

The EMS Technical Advisory Board (TAB) shall assist with the planning and delivery of the advanced life support (ALS) service, and those components of the basic life support system (BLS) impacted by ALS service. The Board’s responsibilities include working with EMS Administration and EMS Oversight Board (EOB) to:

  •  Provide recommendations and information on operational, educational and logistical components of the ALS programs to the EOB.
  •  Assisting to develop policies for seamless delivery of paramedic services throughout Whatcom County.
  •  Assist to develop a plan for stabilizing the EMS system including reliable funding and consistent service.

Time Requirements

EMS Technical Advisory Board will meet twice a month, every other Wednesday at 10:00am in the Whatcom County Executive’s office.

Membership

The TAB will consist of eleven (11) members of the fire and medical services community. The County Executive will appoint members representing County Administration. The City of Bellingham Mayor will appoint the members representing the Bellingham Fire Department (BFD) and City of Bellingham Administration. Fire District 7 and BFD will each appoint one (1) member, EMS Council shall appoint one (1) member, County Executive and City Mayor will jointly appoint one (1) Hospital-Medical community member.
