Volunteers contribute to the
enhancement of Bellingham’s parks and growing trail system by restoring wildlife habitat, patrolling for litter and safety
hazards, and helping with service-learning projects. There are many ways to
get involved, for both individuals and groups. It’s rewarding and fun to
improve our parks and greenways!
- Join a drop-in work party
(Work Party Schedule) A great
opportunity to get involved with the Parks Volunteer Program and fun for the whole family
- Great opportunities for high school senior’s Culminating Projects
and Eagle Scout Projects
- Ask for a Project in a Park or on a Trail: Organize a work party for
your group, class or neighborhood at a time and area of your choice. You
provide labor; the program provides materials, plants, tools, directions
and supervision of work.
- Adopt-a-Trail: Sign on for long-term stewardship duties that fit
your skills along your favorite trail section.
- Be a Park Steward: Garden clubs, service groups, families and
businesses can adopt a park, helping to remove invasive plants like
English Ivy or English Holly or care for a restored area, giving it the
regular care that will make it thrive.
- Be an Intern: Help out with regular activities, specialize, or
customize a project to meet your academic needs.
