F Street Crossing

​​​​​​​​Project Overview

As part of ongoing efforts to create railway “Quiet Zones,” work began in April 2023 on another in-City railroad crossing – F Street at Roeder. This project improves safety of the F Street railroad crossing for trains, vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists.

Project benefits include:

  • ADA and safety upgrades
  • Better railway crossing gates
  • Updated signs and markings
  • Pedestrian and bicycle upgrades and improved connectivity

This project is funded by Federal RAIL Funds and the Bellingham Transportation Fund.

Status – October 2023

F Street at Roeder Avenue is now open as construction wraps up on this project. Thank you for your patience during project construction this summer.
